Print / Anime: Chutney Chorus / New Year's cards

Inspired by a trip to the Vatican Museum, Mike used a Roman theme for our first New Year's card. In Roman mythology, Janus is the god of beginnings and faces both the past and future. (January is named after him). After a trip to Japan in 2013, he developed the theme by combining the god with East Asian mythology… the outcome? A dragon looking back and a snake looking forward. The following year saw the animals in fighting spirit, inspired by Guatemalan textiles in Toronto’s Textile Museum of Canada. From 2015 onward, print design went out the window and the result, although still animalistic, is animated.
